Into the Mist

A freezing, windy night spent camping broke into a surreal, misty morning. Hiking forward, the veils of fog parted to reveal stately trees and wildflower-filled meadows held in a stillness and hush unlike anything I had encountered before. “Into the Mist” represents that walk into the unknown, the quiet, indrawn breath preceding change.
Canvas Size: Horizontal 16 x 20 inch canvas. 7/8” deep with lovingly finished sides.

From the ArtistYou can almost feel cool tendrils of fog wisping off the canvas of this painting. I remember a heavy hush to the forest that morning, as though speaking aloud would have broken a sacred silence. Moving along the trail, new layers of forest and meadow were slowly revealed. It felt intimate, exciting, as though I were completely alone in this beautiful, mist-drenched world. Trees towered overhead, monoliths of darkness in the haze, as these strange, feathery wildflowers were unveiled. It felt otherworldly, yet somehow so grounding: a chance to recenter and reconnect with your sense of self.
