This painting has always held a feeling of hope. The grasses are tossed about by a stiff breeze, their motion reminiscent of dancers, while that same breeze works to break the heavy clouds above. The clouds are limned with a few sparks of light: a promise that the sun will emerge, that brighter times will follow.

The sun was fighting its way through rain-heavy clouds, emerging briefly to light the landscape, creating a sense of hope and renewal. "Emerging" represents that sense of hope, of a new season, and new opportunities.
